How to Update Your Browser
Regularly updating your web browser ensures you have the latest security updates and features, providing an optimal internet experience. Below, you'll find instructions on how to update the four most commonly used browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click on the three vertical dots located at the top-right corner of the browser window.
- In the drop-down menu, hover over "Help" and then click on "About Google Chrome".
- Chrome will automatically check for updates. If an update is available, it will start downloading and installing it immediately.
- Once the update is complete, you might need to click on the "Relaunch" button to restart the browser and apply the update.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- Click on the three horizontal lines (Menu) at the top-right corner of the screen.
- From the drop-down menu, click on "Help" and then select "About Firefox".
- Firefox will automatically start checking for updates. If an update is available, it will be downloaded immediately.
- Once the download is complete, click on the "Restart to update Firefox" button to finish the update process.
Safari
- Open the Safari browser.
- Click on "Safari" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and select "About Safari".
- A window will open showing the current version of Safari. If an update is available, you'll need to update your macOS to install it.
- Click on the Apple menu at the top-left corner of the screen, and select "System Preferences".
- Click on "Software Update".
- If updates are available, click the "Update Now" button to install them.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click on the three horizontal dots at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Click on "Help and feedback", and then select "About Microsoft Edge".
- Edge will automatically check for updates. If there's an update, it will be downloaded and installed automatically.
- If necessary, click "Restart" to relaunch the browser and complete the update.
